A member of my church invited me to take a tour of Ft. Rucker, where he works. I'm not really interested in military posts or things like that, but I decided to go anyway.

It turned out to be a lot of fun. I got to participate a flight simulation and fly my own, um...helicopter. I forget what it was called. I was too busy focusing on trivial geeky stuff (they mainly use Linux instead of Windows, for example) than learning the actual names of the vehicles.

I had a good time, though.

(That thing on my head that makes me look like I freak with very severe eye problems is very heavy and very expensive. They said it cost around $90,000. I think that's the most expensive thing I've ever worn.)

IRIS Flight Simulations A-10A Warthog over Davis-Monthan AFB and the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona. IRIS just released this very, very nice Warthog model with multiple paint schemes and load outs. There are some graphical fau pauxs but the flight model is excellent and the cockpit is wildly accurate. Revisions are already being made and I'm eagerly awaiting the release.
